We are looking for an energetic and eager individual to join our Safety & Risk Management team for the summer! Throughout your internship, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the diverse facets of construction, while contributing significantly to the Safety & Risk Management team. This experience promises not only exposure to the intricacies of the industry but also provides invaluable hands-on involvement in shaping real-world projects. Responsibilities
- Orders, maintains, and tracks safety equipment and PPE usage
- Aids Project Managers and Estimators with safety submittals and pre-qualification questionnaires for customers
- Assists with field safety inspections, documentation, and corrective actions
- Coordinates M&H and third-party training such as Orientation, eRailSafe, and Avetta
- Maintains Safety and Risk Management data, information, and metrics
- Monitors internal dashboards for safety compliance including job setup, fleet telematics, and training
- Maintains driver qualification files
- Ensures compliance with contractor management platforms such as ISNetworld and Avetta
- Work as a Site Safety Officer, on an as-needed basis
- Delivers a high level of service to employees and leaders
- Perform other duties as assigned
School Requirements
- Actively enrolled in a safety-related degree program, having completed at least one year and in good academic standing
- Ability to provide internship requirements required through the related major or school
Other Requirements
- Ability to work full-time hours at the M&H Overland Park Office
- Familiarity with computer programs such as Google Docs and Sheets (and/or Microsoft Word/Excel)
- You must own boots acceptable to wear on job sites. All other PPE will be provided.
- You will be required to navigate an active job site
- Interpersonal skills, including written and verbal communication
- A willingness to learn and grow
- Willingness to obtain OSHA 10 Certification and Red Cross CPR certification, if not already obtained
Physical Demands
- Ability to safely navigate an active worksite. Occasionally walk on uneven surfaces, including natural ground and slopes.
- Exposure to dust, dirt, and loud noises
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time
